Thinking About Starting Child Care?

Let’s be honest… starting childcare can feel like a huge step. Whether you’re heading back to work, needing a few hours to yourself, or simply wanting your little one to build friendships and confidence, it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed by where to even begin.
Here’s a little secret…
You don’t have to know all the answers before you walk through the door.
In fact, one of the best things you can do is simply pop in for a chat.
You don’t need to have decided on a start date. You don’t need to know how Child Care Subsidy works. You don’t even need to know if childcare is right for your family yet.
Come and ask the questions.
Visit More Than One Centre
This might sound strange coming from someone who owns a childcare centre, but…
Please visit more than one.
Every centre has its own personality, just like every family does.
Some families love big, bustling environments. Others prefer something smaller and more personal. Some want a heavily structured day, while others are looking for a more relaxed approach.
None of these are wrong.
The most important thing is finding somewhere that feels right for your family.
Trust Your Gut
When you walk into a centre, pay attention to how it makes you feel.
Do the educators greet the children by name?
Can you hear laughter?
Do the children look comfortable and engaged?
Can you picture your child there?
Sometimes it’s the little things that tell you more than a brochure ever could.
Ask All the Questions
Seriously… all of them.
No question is too silly.
Ask about routines. Ask how they settle nervous children. Ask about meals. Ask about sleep. Ask what happens when your child has “one of those days.” (Because every child has them!)
A good team won’t just answer your questions—they’ll want you to ask them.
Child Care Isn’t One Size Fits All
One thing I always tell families is this:
Not every centre suits every family, and that’s okay.
I’d much rather help a family find the right fit than have them choose us simply because we’re the closest or had a vacancy.
Child care is about building relationships, trust, and feeling comfortable enough to leave your most precious little person in someone else’s care.
That decision deserves time.
We’re Here to Help
Whether you choose our centre or another one, our door is always open.
If you’re feeling unsure about where to start, confused by the enrolment process, or simply want someone to explain how it all works, come and have a chat.
No pressure. No obligation. No sales pitch.
Just a friendly conversation with people who understand that choosing childcare is a big decision.
Sometimes all it takes is one visit to make the whole process feel a little less overwhelming.
And if we can help make that first step a little easier, we’d love to.
